In 2016 I was Momentum's lead production designer on the American Express Card Member Club at the Panorama Music Festival in NYC. Then in 2019 I also lead production design on the American Express Platinum House at Coachella. These pop-up venues took two different approaches to staging an event space. The Platinum House at Coachella took the fountain courtyard at Palm Spring's Avalon hotel and turned it into an exclusive experience of whimsy and optimism. While the Card Member Club at the Panorama Music Festival was an entire event space in and of itself, standing 100 yards from the main stage on Randall's Island in NY.
At Panorama, the AMEX event space provided a VIP viewing deck, full bar, free WiFi, charging stations, DJ sets between main event shows, social media wall, DIY custom sunglass station and a 360˚ panoramic photo booth kitted out with the ability do your own light painting pose.
At Platinum House 2019, the space featured a make-up station, shoe cleaning service, DJ sets, accupuncture and spa appointments, while serving food, drinks and good vibes provided by artists FriendsWithYou to kickoff a great Coachella.
