Realizing your ideas

Preston outdoor portrait

About me/gvg:

My name is Preston and I'm a well-seasoned production designer turned creative services project manager. Through 11 years in advertising (6+ at a global agency), my work has been at the Super Bowl (x4), Coachella and many more unique places.

I've been a production artist, designer, retoucher and project manager on the leading corporations of 16 different product & service categories. The largest share of my agency work came as a client manager of production design for the Patrón Tequila account. Collaboration is at the heart of who I am, because the coolest things happen when talented people work together.

Iterating on the Creative Service process

What is Creative Services?

A Creative Services department is a collection of specialists across a vast array of creative and support disciplines. While managing the Patrón Tequila account inside the Creative Services department of Momentum Worldwide, I erased the hard line between Creative and Creative Services to develop a more unified and iterative process. This process is built for addressing the challenges of integrated production and design, to better collaborate across the entire stack.

Blending Production and Design Together

  • Coordinate project scope, providing any unit estimates and route them for approvals.
  • Advise on planning, timing and whether freelancers are needed to meet deadlines.
  • Review creative assets and vendor materials for errors.
  • Collaborate with Creative on program Key Visuals, finalizing all details.
  • Retouch and composite the KV until impeccable then adapt across all other elements.
  • Prioritize element lists, delegating to freelancers by priority and skill level as necessary.
  • Flex between proofing, routing and revisions as elements enter these different stages at various times.
  • Package mechanical files for server organization and release according to vendor specifications.
  • Submit final reports to finance for applicable elements.
  • Evaluate the program for any internal procedure improvements.
  • And of course, being at various points in this process for multiple jobs at the same time.
